Hebrews 8:
6 But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent
than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on
better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no
occasion to look for a second.
8 For he finds fault with them when he says: "Behold, the days are coming,
declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah,
9 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took
them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they did not
continue in my covenant, and so I showed no concern for them, declares the
Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after
those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write
them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
11 And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother,
saying, 'Know the Lord,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to
the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their
sins no more."
13 In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is
becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
Hebrews 10:
12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat
down at the right hand of God,
13 waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his
feet.
14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being
sanctified.
15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,
16 "This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days,
declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their
minds,"
17 then he adds, "I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no
more."
18 Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for
sin.
Both neo-con evangelicals and liberal universalists
hold to the belief that the enacting laws through man’s governmental systems
solve a particular “sin” problem. In one case, the neo- pharisaical evangelicals
go to Moses as the basis of their legislation. As for liberal universalism,
they go to their own man-centered philosophies regarding “fairness” and a
system of pseudo-equality. Both stand in opposition to each other and yet both
end up on the same side of the fence when it comes to the Truth of God in
Christ. Both are failed attempts at writing the law on the hearts and minds of
men, and both serve only to affirm the condemnation of all sinners. They both
promote a self-generated righteousness.
However, only God can write His law on the hearts and minds of men, and He
accomplished this through Christ alone, for the elect alone. This “writing on
our hearts and minds” through Christ finds its origin in His grace, and is
affirmation that without such grace all men stand condemned.
The result of such grace, is a God-generated
righteousness, (i.e. regeneration), the
saint’s passing from death to life through the Son.
The law is not written on the hearts and minds of men in order to enable them
to
become perfect law-keepers. It is done so in order to daily remind the redeemed
that
Christ alone is their righteousness, and He alone removes sin, its stain and
its guilt.
Romans 10:
3 For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish
their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
The issue within visible evangelicalism is not so much
liberal universalism, (though it is there to some extent, mainly among those
who claim to preach “grace”); the issue is legalism (that is Moses being
preached as the Gospel). The Law is not the Gospel. The Law is not good news.
The Law transforms no man.
Romans 7:13 Did that which is good, then, bring death
to me? By no means! It was sin, producing death in me through what is good, in
order that sin might be shown to be sin, and through the commandment might
become sinful beyond measure.
The sinner saved by grace recognizes the proper use of
the law, whereas the true antinomian attempts to assign an application for
which the law was never given. The antinomian does not acknowledge the proper
use of the law and therefore fails to acknowledge the grace of God, which is
the Gospel message.
And so arminian-legalist-dispensational-futurist
christianity rears its misshapen skull in earnest.
2Thess 2:
11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is
false,
12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had
pleasure in unrighteousness.
Righteousness = Christ Jesus. The righteous are the
elect, those to whom His righteousness is imputed, chosen in Him from before
creation; all those who preach Him, and His Gospel, by the power of the Spirit
of the one true God
Unrighteousness = all that is and all who are
antichrist, i.e. the preachers and disciples of another christ, another gospel,
which proceeds from another spirit.
(2 Cor 11:3-15; they will appear to be righteous)
Book sales should go through the roof.
Rev 22:11 Let the evildoer still do evil, and the
filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be
holy."
Luke 12:
51 Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but
rather division.
52 For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two
and two against three.
53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother
against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her
daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law."
54 He also said to the crowds, "When you see a cloud rising in the west,
you say at once, 'A shower is coming.' And so it happens.
55 And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, 'There will be scorching
heat,' and it happens.
56 You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky,
but why do you not know how to interpret the PRESENT time?
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever
(Rev 1:4-8; 4:8)
John 18:
33 So Pilate entered his headquarters again and called Jesus and said to him,
"Are you the King of the Jews?"
34 Jesus answered, "Do you say this of your own accord, or did others say
it to you about me?"
35 Pilate answered, "Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests
have delivered you over to me. What have you done?"
36 Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of
this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered
over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world."
37 Then Pilate said to him, "So you are a king?" Jesus answered,
"You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this
purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who
is of the truth listens to my voice."
Genesis 12:
1 Now the LORD said to Abram, "Go from your country and your kindred and
your father's house to the land that I will show you.
2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your
name great, so that you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and
in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."
Exodus 19:
1 On the third new moon after the people of Israel had gone out of the land of
Egypt, on that day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.
2 They set out from Rephidim and came into the wilderness of Sinai, and they
encamped in the wilderness. There Israel encamped before the mountain,
3 while Moses went up to God. The LORD called to him out of the mountain,
saying, "Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the people of
Israel:
4 You yourselves have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on
eagles' wings and brought you to myself.
5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you
shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine;
6 and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the
words that you shall speak to the people of Israel."
1Peter 2:
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for
his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called
you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not
received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
Rev 5:
6 And between the throne and the four living creatures and among the elders I
saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain, with seven horns and with
seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
7 And he went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who was seated on
the throne.
8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the
twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden
bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
9 And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are you to take the scroll and
to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people
for God from every tribe and language and people and nation,
10 and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall
reign on the earth."
Rev 11:
15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in
heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our
Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever."
16 And the twenty-four elders who sit on their thrones before God fell on their
faces and worshiped God,
17 saying, "We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, who is and who was,
for you have taken your great power and begun to reign.
18 The nations raged, but your wrath came, and the time for the dead to be
judged, and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints, and those who
fear your name, both small and great, and for destroying the destroyers of the
earth."
Rev 20:
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his
presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.
12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books
were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the
dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had
done.
13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the
dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to
what they had done.
14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second
death, the lake of fire.
15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was
thrown into the lake of fire.
God is not looking to deal with the USA,
nor the current nation of Israel as He did ancient Israel. There is no one
nation existing today that God has chosen as His Kingdom. All nations will be
judged in the same manner, as all nations are birthed from Babel in Genesis 11,
(Acts 17:26-31). Ancient Israel existed solely as copy and shadow (the
penultimate) of God's ultimate intention. Christ will rule over a Kingdom which
originates from the throne. It is comprised of the remnant of all mankind, both
jew and gentile. They are redeemed FROM every nation and will exist as a kingdom
of priest, a holy nation, the Kingdom of God!
All is fulfilled in Christ.
2Peter 3:13
But according to His promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in
which righteousness dwells.
Psalm 2:
1 Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together,
against the LORD and against his Anointed, saying,
3 "Let us burst their bonds apart and cast away their cords from us."
4 He who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord holds them in derision.
5 Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury,
saying,
6 "As for me, I have set my King on Zion, my holy hill."
7 I will tell of the decree: The LORD said to me, "You are my Son; today I
have begotten you.
8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the
earth your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a
potter's vessel."
10 Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is
quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.
Acts 4:
23 When they were released, they went to their friends and reported what the
chief priests and the elders had said to them.
24 And when they heard it, they lifted their voices together to God and said,
"Sovereign Lord, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and
everything in them,
25 who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy
Spirit, "'Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples plot in vain?
26 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers were gathered
together, against the Lord and against his Anointed'—
27 for truly in this city there were gathered together against your holy
servant Jesus, whom you anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the
Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,
28 to do whatever your hand and your plan had predestined to take place.
Acts 17:
24 The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and
earth, does not live in temples made by man,
25 nor is he served by human hands, as though he needed anything, since he
himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything.
26 And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of
the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their
dwelling place,
27 that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find
him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,
28 for "'In him we live and move and have our being'; as even some of your
own poets have said, "'For we are indeed his offspring.'
29 Being then God's offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is
like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of
man.
30 The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he
commands all people everywhere to repent,
31 because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness
by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by
raising him from the dead."
Rev 19:15 From his mouth comes a sharp sword with
which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He
will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.
Rev 11:15 Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and
there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has
become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever
and ever."
The nations and systems of man find their origins in
Genesis 11. It is the almighty God, in His sovereignty, who has caused them to
be. Their sole purpose in existing is to serve Him and His plan, purpose, and
will. They are neither the manifestation of His Kingdom, nor the mouthpiece of
that Kingdom.
However, His body, the church, the elect saints, the citizenry of His Kingdom,
is that which supports the Head, from which the Word of God (the Gospel)
proceeds, bringing all nations into subjugation to Him who currently reigns in
all authority and dominion.
1 Timothy 3:15; Ephesians 1:16-23; 4:15-16
1 Cor 2:
12 Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from
God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.
13 And we impart this in words
not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual
truths to those who are spiritual.
14 The natural person
does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and
he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.
15 The spiritual person
judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one.
16 "For who has
understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?" But we have the
mind of Christ.
Paul's point here is that no one understands the mind
of the Lord let alone is able to "instruct" Him. The Holy Spirit is
given to, and indwells those whom Christ died for, i.e. the elect, to whom His
righteousness is first imputed; then the indwelling Spirit is given,(regeneration).
Then those who are "spiritual" may discern and understand the mind of
Christ.
Therefore, since natural (unregenerate) man cannot instruct (judge) the
Lord, then the natural man cannot judge (instruct) those for whom Christ has
died, and are born from above by the Spirit (the spiritual), for we are of
Christ, and Christ is judged by no man; subsequently, neither are we.
1Cor 1:
30 And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from
God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption,
31 so that, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the
Lord."
