Genesis 11:
6 And the LORD said, "Behold, they are one
people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what
they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for
them.
7 Come, let us go down and there confuse their
language, so that they may not understand one another's speech."
8 So the LORD dispersed them from there over
the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.
9 Therefore its name was called Babel, because
there the LORD confused the language of all the earth. And from there the LORD
dispersed them over the face of all the earth.
Acts
17:26 And He (God) made from one man
(Adam) every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined
allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place…
Daniel
2:
19 Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a
vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
20 Daniel answered and said: "Blessed be
the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might.
21 He changes times and seasons; he removes
kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who
have understanding;
22 he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows
what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.
23 To you, O God of my fathers, I give thanks
and praise, for you have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to
me what we asked of you, for you have made known to us the king's matter."
24 Therefore Daniel went in to Arioch, whom the
king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon. He went and said thus to
him: "Do not destroy the wise men of Babylon; bring me in before the king,
and I will show the king the interpretation."
25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king
in haste and said thus to him: "I have found among the exiles from Judah a
man who will make known to the king the interpretation."
26 The king declared to Daniel, whose name was
Belteshazzar, "Are you able to make known to me the dream that I have seen
and its interpretation?"
27 Daniel answered the king and said, "No
wise men, enchanters, magicians, or astrologers can show to the king the
mystery that the king has asked,
28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals
mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the
latter days. Your dream and the visions of your head as you lay in bed are
these:
29 To you, O king, as you lay in bed came thoughts
of what would be after this, and he who reveals mysteries made known to you
what is to be.
30 But as for me, this mystery has been revealed
to me, not because of any wisdom that I have more than all the living, but in
order that the interpretation may be made known to the king, and that you may
know the thoughts of your mind.
31 "You saw, O king, and behold, a great
image. This image, mighty and of exceeding brightness, stood before you, and
its appearance was frightening.
32 The head of this image was of fine gold, its
chest and arms of silver, its middle and thighs of bronze,
33 its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and
partly of clay.
34 As you looked, a stone was cut out by no
human hand, and it struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke
them in pieces.
35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the
silver, and the gold, all together were broken in pieces, and became like the
chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, so that
not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that struck the image became
a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
36 "This was the dream. Now we will tell
the king its interpretation.
37 You, O king, the king of kings, to whom the
God of heaven has given the kingdom, the power, and the might, and the glory,
38 and into whose hand he has given, wherever
they dwell, the children of man, the beasts of the field, and the birds of the
heavens, making you rule over them all—you are the head of gold.
39 Another kingdom inferior to you shall arise
after you, and yet a third kingdom of bronze, which shall rule over all the
earth.
40 And there shall be a fourth kingdom, strong
as iron, because iron breaks to pieces and shatters all things. And like iron
that crushes, it shall break and crush all these.
41 And as you saw the feet and toes, partly of
potter's clay and partly of iron, it shall be a divided kingdom, but some of
the firmness of iron shall be in it, just as you saw iron mixed with the soft
clay.
42 And as the toes of the feet were partly iron
and partly clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly brittle.
43 As you saw the iron mixed with soft clay, so
they will mix with one another in marriage, but they will not hold together,
just as iron does not mix with clay.
44 And in the days of those kings the God of
heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the
kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms
and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever,
45 just as you saw that a stone was cut from a
mountain by no human hand, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze,
the clay, the silver, and the gold. A great God has made known to the king what
shall be after this. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure."
It is the
arrogance of mankind to assume that their nation, country, kingdom is destined
for eternal existence, i.e. they are the manifest kingdom of God (John
18:36-37). The kingdoms of man all come under the headship of Babylon, and all
bear its imprint.
All will be brought under the headship of Christ, as all are already under His authority and rule. (Ephesians 1: 16-23; Rev 11:15-18; compare Luke 4:5-8 and Rev 13:1-10)
All will be brought under the headship of Christ, as all are already under His authority and rule. (Ephesians 1: 16-23; Rev 11:15-18; compare Luke 4:5-8 and Rev 13:1-10)
The
Revelation given to John on Patmos is not a revealing of events far into the future.
It is the revealing of God and His Christ, and His plan accomplished in Christ
throughout all of history. It is encouragement to the saints who undergo
persecution and tribulation inflicted upon them by a world destined for wrath.
The
apostles, indeed all the saints who walked the earth with them, understood that
God foreknows based upon the fact that He has decreed all men and all things to
be exactly as they are. (Acts 4:23-28; Psalm 2; Matthew 6:9-10; Rev 8:1-5)
What
has happened to those who claim to walk in the tradition of the true apostolic
church?
Why
so much fear and angst over political kingdoms and the ideological clash of
cultures?
The
saints pray in the will of God which is made known through His word, the
Scriptures.
The
true “prayer warriors’ are few and far between as most “prayer” is wasted upon
the dreams and visions of those who spend little time, if any, in the Book. (Jeremiah
23: 25-33; 1 John 5:14-15)
What
is the next “move of God”? He has never stopped “moving” from the moment he
ascended to His rest. (Genesis 2:1-3; John
5:15-20)
Daniel 7:
1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of
Babylon, Daniel saw a dream and visions of his head as he lay in his bed. Then
he wrote down the dream and told the sum of the matter.
2 Daniel declared, "I saw in my vision by
night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea.
3 And four great beasts came up out of the sea,
different from one another.
4 The first was like a lion and had eagles'
wings. Then as I looked its wings were plucked off, and it was lifted up from
the ground and made to stand on two feet like a man, and the mind of a man was
given to it.
5 And behold, another beast, a second one, like
a bear. It was raised up on one side. It had three ribs in its mouth between
its teeth; and it was told, 'Arise, devour much flesh.'
6 After this I looked, and behold, another,
like a leopard, with four wings of a bird on its back. And the beast had four
heads, and dominion was given to it.
7 After this I saw in the night visions, and
behold, a fourth beast, terrifying and dreadful and exceedingly strong. It had
great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces and stamped what was left
with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it
had ten horns.
8 I considered the horns, and behold, there
came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first
horns were plucked up by the roots. And behold, in this horn were eyes like the
eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.
9 "As I looked, thrones were placed, and
the Ancient of Days took his seat; his clothing was white as snow, and the hair
of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames; its wheels were
burning fire.
10 A stream of fire issued and came out from
before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten
thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were
opened.
11 "I looked then because of the sound of
the great words that the horn was speaking. And as I looked, the beast was
killed, and its body destroyed and given over to be burned with fire.
12 As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion
was taken away, but their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.
13 "I saw in the night visions, and behold,
with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the
Ancient of Days and was presented before him.
14 And to him was given dominion and glory and a
kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his
dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom
one that shall not be destroyed.
Rev
4:
2 At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a
throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne.
3 And he who sat there had the appearance of
jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the
appearance of an emerald.
4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones,
and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments,
with golden crowns on their heads.
5 From the throne came flashes of lightning,
and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven
torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God,
6 and before the throne there was as it were a
sea of glass, like crystal. And around the throne, on each side of the throne,
are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind:
7 the first living creature like a lion, the
second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a
man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight.
8 And the four living creatures, each of them
with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they
never cease to say, "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was
and is and is to come!"
9 And whenever the living creatures give glory
and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and
ever,
10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him
who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They
cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11 "Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to
receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will
they existed and were created."
All
of mankind, i.e. the remnant, all creation will worship their glorious creator
in eternity.
What was, now
is; what is now, is coming. As for me and my house, we choose to serve the God
who is sovereign and not the inadequate icon of open theism preached today as
Lord.
"Holy,
holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!"
