Luke
22:
19 And he took bread, and when he had given
thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which
is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me."
20 And likewise the cup after they had eaten,
saying, "This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my
blood.
Matthew
26:
38 Then he said to them, "My soul is very
sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me."
39 And going a little farther he fell on his
face and prayed, saying, "My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass
from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will."
Luke24:
44 Then he said to them, "These are my
words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that EVERYTHING written
about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be
fulfilled."
45 Then he opened their minds to understand the
Scriptures,
46 and said to them, "Thus it is written,
that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead,
47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins
should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
John
19:
28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now
finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), "I thirst."
29 A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they
put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth.
30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he
said, "It is finished," and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
Hebrews
8:13 In speaking of a new covenant, he
makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is
ready to vanish away.
1Cor
5:7 Cleanse out the old leaven that you
may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb,
has been sacrificed.
Hebrews
10:
15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us;
for after saying,
16 "This is the covenant that I will make
with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts,
and write them on their minds,"
17 then he adds, "I will remember their
sins and their lawless deeds no more."
18 Where there is forgiveness of these, there is
no longer any offering for sin.
Hebrews
9:28 so Christ, having been offered once
to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but
to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
Christ,in
drinking the final, bitter cup of the old covenant by His death, brings an end
to that which was but copy and shadow (Colossians 2:17). There is nothing left
undone. His second, (and last) appearing is all that the saints , both living
and dead await. To say that God hit the "pause" button and the Son
has yet to fulfill "OT" scripture is blatantly unbiblical.
