Sower and Seed

Matthew 13:
18 "Hear then the parable of the sower:
19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path.
20 As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy,
21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immedia
tely he falls away.
22 As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.
23 As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty."

The seed, i.e. the Word of God, (Scriptures, the Gospel), does not alter the makeup of the ground it falls upon. The reality is God has prepared all creation, mankind, for its purpose. (Proverbs 16:4)
The types of ground allegorically spoken of here by the Lord represent all of mankind, created by God in His sovereignty that will either reject, or believe/obey His Word, which is the Good news of salvation in and through Christ alone; the imperishable seed! (1 Peter 1:1-25)

Acts 6:7 And the word of God continued to increase, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.

Acts 12:24 But the word of God increased and multiplied.

It is the Word which takes root and increases, producing the "harvest of God". The seed takes root and produces such a harvest only in “good ground”, (i.e. the elect). The ground does not prepare itself.

Luke 10:2 And he said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into HIS harvest. (Matthew 28:18-20; Rev 5:6-14)

Amen and Amen!

We Have Been Warned- "End Times" Marketing

Matthew 24:                                                                                                                                       4 And Jesus answered them, "See that no one leads you astray.
5 For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray……..

23 Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There he is!' do not believe it.
24 For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

The surest "sign" that His return is near is the proliferation of both sign makers and sign seekers. They are not eagerly awaiting (looking for) the Lord's return. They are marketing sensationalism in the guise of "prophecy".

Hebrews 9:
27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,
28 so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

Rev 22:
20 He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.

God's sovereignty in Election (even the presidential)

Job 42:
1 Then Job answered the LORD and said:
2 "I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
3 'Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?' Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
4 'Hear, and I will speak; I will question you, and you make it known to me.'
5 I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you;
6 therefore I despise myself, and repent in dust and ashes."

Proverbs 20:12 The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the LORD has made them both.

Every election cycle one would think "it can't get any worse" and yet it does. I am not speaking about candidates, political parties, nor even the media. There will never be improvement there. I am speaking of those who claim to be the saints. Professing christianity talks a big game about God's "sovereignty" until they discover what that really means. Sovereign, as written in the Greek, is the word from which we get our term "despot". Job understood. Everything is in His hands. His foreknowledge is founded upon His predetermined will. All creation serves and glorifies the Creator.

Daniel 2:
20 Daniel answered and said: "Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might.
21 He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding;
22 he reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him.

Proverbs 16:4 The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.
