Jonah 2:9b ………… “Salvation belongs to
the LORD!"
Rev 7:
9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,
10 and crying out with a loud voice, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"
God's complete sovereignty is revealed in His Word.
Salvation belongs to, "is of", i.e. issues from our God. Therefore He grants it to whom He wills, according to His good pleasure and His perfect plan.
Php 2:
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,
13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
The "free willers" and self sanctifying preachers of righteousness through works, place all the emphasis on verse 12 from the above passage found in Philippians 2. It is verse 13 which defines verse 12 and should receive primary focus. Soli Deo Gloria!
